It’s not that the driver file for your PCI Simple Communications Controller which is lost or corrupt. It’s the path of the driver file which is broken. To resolve this issue, you need to update the driver which establishes a new path for the broken driver file.

·By the way, who is your computer manufacturer? Mention the make/model number?
·Did you try updating the driver for your PCI Simple Communications Controller?
·Did you try re-installing your chipset/motherboard drivers to see if that help you to fix the problem?
Firstly, I would suggest you to manually update the drivers for your PCI Simple Communications Controller. To do so, follow the steps below.
I: Update the driver for PCI Simple Communications Controller
Note: You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1.OpenDevice Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clickingDevice Manager.If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2.In the list of hardware categories, underother devices, double-click on PCI Simple Communications Controller.
3.Click theDriver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
4.You can initially choose the option “Browse my computer for driver software”. If you choose this option, it is better to insert your drivers and utilities CD for your motherboard so that windows can get the drivers from the CD.
5.If this doesn’t help, you can choose the other option “Search automatically for the driver software”

If your computer manufacturer is Dell, then you can download the driver from the following link which has fixed the issue for so many end users.
Note: The driver works forWindows XP, Windows Vista 32/64 bit and Windows 7 32/64 bit. Also, the driver works only on Dell Inspiron 1464, 1564, 1764 and onDell Studio Laptop 1558/1569. Follow the installation instructions given in the link below to install the driver.

Dell pre-loads Inspiron laptops with the correct device drivers for all hardware at the factory, but if you formatted your Inspiron and reinstalled Windows without using the recovery disc or partition, you must download and install the device driver for the computer's wireless adapter before you will be able to connect to wireless networks. You can download the driver from the Dell support website.

Wireless Adapter
If you are certain the device driver is installed, you may have disabled the Inspiron's wireless adapter. Look for a wireless switch on the computer or press the 'Fn-F2' keys simultaneously to enable the wireless adapter.
Encryption Key
When a wireless router has encryption enabled, you must enter a key consisting of letters, numbers and symbols when connecting. If you fail to enter the correct key, Windows displays an error message. To confirm that your Inspiron is unable to connect to a wireless network because of an incorrect encryption key, you can connect the Inspiron to the router with an Ethernet cable, log in to the router administration screen and reset the password. Alternatively, try connecting to a wireless router that you are certain does not use encryption.
Signal Strength
You may have difficulty connecting to a wireless network on your Inspiron if the signal strength is too low. You can confirm low signal strength by clicking the wireless connection icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop. If the signal strength displayed next to the name of your wireless router is low, improve the signal by moving the Inspiron closer to the router or eliminating causes of interference, such as metal objects and other wireless devices.
System Files
If you are still unable to connect to wireless networks after installing the wireless device driver, improving the signal strength as much as possible and attempting to connect to multiple different routers, your Inspiron may have a corrupted system file preventing its networking features from working properly. You can have Windows scan all system files by launching the Command Prompt as a system administrator and typing the command 'sfc /scannow.' If this fails to resolve the issue, it may be necessary to back up your files and repair the Inspiron using the recovery disc or partition.
