PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller driver 01:08 AM I've installed win 8.1x64 on my HP Probook 450 G2 but I am missing the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller driver. PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller - Driver Download. Updating your drivers with Driver Alert can help your computer in a number of ways. From adding new functionality and improving performance, to fixing a major bug.
Hello everyone, this is my first post on these forums so apologies if the formatting or wording of some things are slightly off! So I have a custom built gaming PC and have run into issues as a result of a particular driver apparently not being installed, I have been in contact with Microsoft support about it as well as trying various suggested troubleshooting methods but so far nothing has worked. The culprit apparently is the 'PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller' according to Device Manager, below is the discussion that I have had so far with Microsoft support employees, if anyone can spot any glaring derps on my behalf in terms of not properly doing what they are suggesting or just any other fixes that would be great! ~~~Support Discussion Starts Here~~~ I have tried finding downloads for this driver and have used the preset 'Update driver software' function but it only returns errors. Below is an image of how Device Manager is showing the driver as not being installed: Basic System Information: OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.10240 Build 10240 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name DESKTOP-AEGEE74 System Manufacturer MSI System Model MS-7984 System Type x64-based PC System SKU Default string Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3504 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. Package Version: 3.0 Publisher: Microsoft Windows Hardware and Devices Find and fix problems with devices and hardware. Package Version: 3.0 Publisher: Microsoft Corporation Also I have used the Intel Driver Update Utility Installer and manually downloaded the driver as well as using a specific driver installation CD that came with my mobo. None of them have worked as all have returned errors in the installation process: Also Windows Update registers that this driver is missing and queues it for update -when I click 'Install Now' for said update the window just hangs on the loading symbol next to the button which is then grayed out and if I click anywhere on that window I just get a Windows chime sound. It appears as though it also gets stuck on trying to install as when I look at the update process in task manager it is not using any of my network, CPU or disk -probably because it runs into the same error of trying to update a driver that is not actually there. As such I am kind of stumped as to what to do given that none of the Intel software links/downloads are able to successfully install the driver and that various update and installation utilities all fail to do so as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Hello,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. I will definitely help you with this.
A conflict may show next to the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller in the Device Manager for the Latitude E5x50 portable systems. Affected system models include the Latitude E5250/5250, E5450/5450, and the E5550/5550.
To resolve the issue, download and install the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver. This driver file can be located under the Chipset section of the specific system's drivers and downloads from the Manufacturer Support Website.
The issue you are facing with Windows update, I suggest you to try the below steps and check.
Method 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Try to run the Windows update troubleshooter, it will detect and resolve the most common issues with the Windows updates. To do so, follow the link below. You may also follow some other common solutions on the same articles.

Method 2:
If doesn't work, I would suggest you to manually reset Windows Update components and check if it works.
Refer to Manually reset Windows Update components from the link below:

Thank you for your reply,
My system is not (as far as I am aware) any of the models which you have suggested; I also have been unable to find a specific download link on Intel or MSI's website for the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver other than this: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/...driverId=66P3R
However as you will note the compatible systems are all Latitute/Dell ones (A number of which are also tablets) and as such I assumed that downloading and installing this would not solve the problem?
I also found this Download Intel Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility) link, however I am not sure whether it is what I am looking for, especially given that it does not state that it is Windows 10 compatible. Are either of them what I am looking for?
I pasted system information in the original post above -my mobo specs are in the image below:
Also with regards to Windows Update, I already tried the troubleshooting options that you mentioned and even though they claimed in their end reports to have 'fixed' several errors with the updater this did not actually cause Windows Update to properly download and install the missing driver -instead it just did the same 'Install now' --> freeze/hang window and not actually update.
If you have a specific link that contains the exact driver I need for my system that would be great!
Any other ways of resolving this problem would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Please try running your driver in compatibility mode and check
if the issue persist:
1. Right click the driver set up.
2. In the compatibility tab, go to
compatibility mode, tick the Run the program in compatibility mode for: select the windows operating system you want the driver to run in.
Please let us know if the issue got resolved or you need any further

I have tried running the drivers that I manually downloaded in compatibility mode for other versions of Windows, as expected this did not help as I am running Windows 10 and the drivers were downloaded for that version OS.
I have been trying to use the disc that came with my motherboard for driver installation, the software runs and shows that I have Intel Serial IO Drivers and Intel ME Drivers not installed on my system. When I then proceed to click install and allow the software to try and get the drivers the program seems to run just fine and go and install them. It even prompts me at the end of the installation sayings that the drivers are installed and that I should restart my system. After I reboot and go to check in device manager the same driver still is missing, in addition when I run the driver software setup it shows the drivers as being 'Not installed' despite the fact that I literally just ran the installation and that it apparently worked according to the software.
Before clicking install on the drivers:
