Htc Desire 610 Lollipop Download

Download HTC Sync Manager. WARNING: If your Bootloader or device software has been modified, you may run the risk of damaging your device by installing the RUU. Choose a carrier. So if you own the HTC Desire 816 or any other mid-range Desire smartphone from last year, chances are that you may not receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update directly from HTC anytime soon.

Using your HTC Desire 610 on full power isn’t possible. Or at least, isn’t possible right away as you first have to perform some modifications within your phone’s internal system. So, if you think that improving the performances of your device is what you need, then you shouldn’t hesitate in completing the guidelines from below. There we will be checking on how to easily and safety root your HTC Desire 610. The root solution can be easily performed even by a newbie who is on his first root experience so you really have nothing to worry about.

But what is root good about? As mentioned, this will be a custom operation that will unlock the Android system of your HTC Desire 610. So, why should you risk in performing an unofficial operation? Well, because you will unlock your phone and that’s the whole point. Basically after gaining root access you will be able to use your device on full power without dealing with factory and default factory restrictions. And since the in built restrictions will be removed you will be able to change settings and to remove in built programs or to add new features.

Moreover, after rooting your Desire 610 you will also be able to complete operations like: updating with a custom ROM such as CM11, AOKP or ParanoidAndroid, overclock the CPU, install a custom kernel, remove bloatware and so on. All these processes have only one reason: improve the performances of your HTC Desire 610. Thus, you will be able to bump the speeds, upgrade the battery life, customize the general performances, optimize the Android system and improve the web browsing experience.

As you can see, ensuring root access is vital, especially if you are an advanced Android user. But, of course it is unofficial so it has nothing to do with Google or with HTC. So, due to same reasons, by completing the guidelines from below you will lose your Desire 610 warranty and you will not be able to reclaim the same if something bad happens – for example if you end up in soft or hard bricking your device. Therefore, from now on you will have to manually troubleshoot Android problems by using dedicated tutorials and without taking your phone back to service – if you do, you will have to pay for the technical assistance.

Also, since we are dealing with a complex and risky operation, before heading to the root process, first you have to prepare your Desire 610. In that matter you must begin with a backup operation. In rare cases users reported that they lost their data and personal accounts after ensuring root access. So, for being sure that nothing bad happens, before doing anything else save everything that you might need or use afterwards. Mainly you should backup your contacts, call logs, text messages, market apps, internet settings, images, videos, audio files along with personal data, info and accounts. Note: you can anytime download free distributed backup and restore apps from Google Play. Note 2: the best will be to make a Nandroid backup for saving your current ROM.

Then, for being able to safely root your phone, your HTC Desire 610 must be installed with TWRP Recovery. So, flash the mentioned custom recovery image on your device before heading towards the steps from below, or else you won’t be able to complete the same.

On the other hand, also prepare a computer as you will have to use one for downloading the root package. Now, the best will be to temporarily deactivate the security protection from your computer as antivirus or other similar programs might interfere with the download process. Moreover, on your phone the USB debugging option must be enabled or else you might not be able to properly establish the connection between your computer and your phone. You need to check the battery status of your handset as it will be important to charge it if the power left is less than 50% - you can brick your device if it gets turned off during the root process.

Also, it is important to know that this root operation is compatible only with the HTC Desire 610, which means that you shouldn’t use the steps from below if you have a similar or different Android device – so be careful and try not to mess things up.

How to Root HTC Desire 610 with ease

  1. Download SuperSU.zip file (download it from here) and save the same on your computer – you can place the file on your desktop.
  2. Don’t unzip the downloaded file.
  3. Connect your smartphone with your computer via USB cord.
  4. Then, transfer the .zip file from desktop to your phone’s SD card.
  5. Finally, unplug the USB cord as the computer is no longer useful.
  6. Now, enter your Desire 610 into recovery mode.
  7. From recovery select “install zip from SD card” followed by “choose zip from SD card”.
  8. Pick the root package and flash the same.
  9. In the end, from main menu of recovery select “reboot system now”.
  10. Done.

Note: if after flashing the SuperSU file your device will get stuck in a boot loop, go back to recovery. From there this time select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”. Then, go to main menu of recovery and pick “reboot system now”.

Congratulations; you have successfully rooted your HTC Desire 610. That was all for now, but don’t forget that you can consider in updating your device with a custom ROM firmware and in performing other custom operations for optimizing the performances and for obtaining more power from your Android based smartphone. Anyway, in the end don’t forget about us and share your root experience with our team and with our readers by using the comments field from below.

Htc Desire 610 Android Update

I have a Desire 610 and have just completed a bootloader operation from HTCs' own dev website. I only wanted to move all of my game apps fully onto my micro SD card through the bootloader. But it hasn't worker out as planned.

After; my phone had finished the factory reset, filled in the basic data (all that) all my games were purged from the phone's main memory (expectedly I suppose) . Some games had accounts naturally linked to Google Play, so were simple to recover. But the others had only partial or no data after reinstallation, even though there was partial amounts of game data manually transferred to my SD prior to the reset.

What and where are the better custom roms for the 610? Seems the rom selection for this device is very small. I originally bought the phone in hopes of running CM or SOMETHING other than the att garbage but looks like no custom rom exist. Any info on custom rom would be great.

I'm not sure about this...did anyone tested this? I searched for other tutorials about rooting Desire 610 and in all of them you were supposed to unlock the bootloader on HTCDev. Did you miss that out?
